So beautifully written! I always say regrets are a waste of time, but can we help it? No.

I used to believe in "the one" but then I came to realize, there are a variety of people on this planet with whom we would be compatible in a variety of ways. You will only be exposed to a certain number of those people due to geography and age constraints. So among those people, you eventually find YOUR one and the two of you meld together in a way that works for you. That's what I'VE learned, anyway! You're wise to be so grounded at such a young age.

Great job. I guess we all could say that! And that's one thing, as we get older, that happens -- we appreciate our family more. I think it's natural to go to a period (around graduation time, actually) where we have to go away from them to figure out who we are...but hopefully we have a good enough relationship that we can go back.

Ugh. That does suck. I was going to get flood insurance but I was told people during Hurricane Katrina who had flood insurance were denied because it was an act of nature. Regular insurance didn't cover it because those insurers said it was flooding. So the people ended up losing everything either way.

Don't they say you hurt the ones you love the most? Maybe it's because we feel close to them...but also because we maybe take them for granted a little.

I'm on an HMO and it amazes me how often insurance trumps medical opinion on things. If my doctor says I need a test, how can my insurance say I don't? It makes no sense... But this sounds a lot like that, only it's (gasp) the government ignoring the advice of doctors. The government is even LESS qualified to say what medical care I need.

Thanks Claudia for the comment. I think you missed the point of my blog though. A, I don't think I asked for help. And B, I volunteer 2 nights a week and all day Sunday with the youth group, I teach 2 different Sunday schools, and Children's church. 2 nights a week I sit with an elderly lady who has had a stroke, and I am also a Young Life leader for at risk kids in my community. I also work and go to school full time, so I don't think getting up and getting busy is a solution to my problem. Thanks though for your advice, keep in mind though, sometimes it's better to be a good listener and keep well meant but empty platitudes to yourself.

You don't need help, you just need to get up and get busy.
at one point in my life i was lost, sad and needy of support and i had two choices; get to the corner and cry,or fix my life for better and
of course is not easy, and is going to take time
but you already are part of this world don't be a quitter.
